A Smooth Path to In-Home ABA Therapy in Johns Creek

The Role of Parents and Caregivers in Therapy

Assessment

The process begins with a consultation with a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Through observation and skill assessment, the BCBA identifies strengths and challenges to develop a personalized in-home ABA therapy plan tailored to your child’s needs and goals.

Development

With your child’s needs and family goals in mind, your BCBA develops a tailored ABA therapy plan. They work closely with the therapy team and manage insurance coordination for a smooth, supportive experience.

Therapy

Therapy begins! Your child will engage in one-on-one sessions with the therapy team, building essential skills and working toward their goals. Ongoing progress updates and expert guidance ensure you stay involved and can reinforce learning at home.

Monitoring

We closely track your child’s progress to ensure their therapy remains effective. Regular data reviews allow us to refine their plan, adapting to their evolving needs and supporting long-term success.

Answers to Your Most Pressing ABA Therapy Questions

ABA therapy coverage depends on your insurance plan. Medicaid typically includes ABA services, while commercial insurance may require copays. Contact your provider to verify your coverage and benefits.
  1. We offer ABA support in schools that allow therapy for children over five. Many private schools permit this service, while most public schools do not. Our BCBAs can participate in IEP meetings and conferences to address behavioral challenges and help support your child’s success.
  2. For families needing additional assistance, STEPS Behavioral Health offers advocacy services for an out-of-pocket fee. Contact our intake coordinator for more details.
Yes, we offer group ABA therapy through social skills groups, available every evening for children over five who receive ABA services. Our Early STEPS program combines one-on-one therapy with group play and activities, allowing children to participate at their own pace. For older clients, we provide real-world social opportunities to help them develop and practice age-appropriate skills in a supportive environment
ABA therapy helps children build essential life skills by reinforcing positive behaviors, strengthening existing abilities, and addressing challenges. It uses evidence-based techniques tailored to each child’s unique needs. Though commonly used for autism, ABA therapy also supports behavior management, learning, and overall well-being.
ABA therapy requires at least 10 hours per week, but the ideal amount depends on each child’s needs. School-aged children typically receive about 15 hours weekly. The Early STEPS program provides an average of 30 hours per week.
A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) assesses a child’s needs, designs individualized treatment plans, and supervises therapy to track progress. An RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) works directly with the child, carrying out the BCBA’s plan through structured sessions and interactive support. A BT (Behavior Technician) performs similar duties but is still in the process of certification. Under the guidance of a BCBA, they implement the same treatment strategies to help the child develop essential skills.
ABA therapy benefits children with autism who face challenges with behavior, daily routines, or learning new skills. Contact our team to see if ABA therapy is the right fit for your child.
You can support your child’s ABA therapy by applying learned strategies at home, reinforcing positive behaviors, and maintaining consistency in daily routines. Your BCBA will provide guidance and training to help you implement these techniques effectively, ensuring long-term progress and success.
