Convenient and Accessible for Families

In today’s fast-paced world, in-home therapy offers a stress-free solution by eliminating the need for travel. Providing care in the comfort of your home saves time and simplifies scheduling, making it easier for busy families to manage their routines.

Stronger Family Participation

Parents and caregivers learn practical strategies to support their child's progress in daily activities. This hands-on approach fosters ongoing growth beyond therapy sessions.

4 Simple Steps to In-Home ABA Therapy in White Marsh

The role of parents and caregivers in the therapy process:

Assessment

Schedule a consultation with your BCBA to discuss your child’s goals. They will observe behaviors, evaluate strengths, and identify areas for growth..

Development

Your BCBA will design a customized therapy plan tailored to your child's needs and family goals. They will also work with your team and insurance provider to ensure the best treatment is in place.

Therapy

Therapy begins! You and your child will work closely with the therapy team to implement the goals set with your BCBA. Through regular check-ins, progress will be monitored and adjustments made as needed. Additionally, you'll learn key strategies to reinforce your child's development at home.

Monitoring

Your child's progress is carefully tracked, with regular data reviews ensuring their therapy plan adapts to their evolving needs. Adjustments are made as needed to support continuous growth and long-term development.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Yes! We offer school-based ABA support for children over five in schools that allow ABA therapy. While many private schools permit this, most public schools do not. Our BCBAs can also attend IEP meetings and conferences to help address behavioral challenges.
  2. For families needing additional support, STEPS Behavioral Health provides advocacy services for an extra fee. Contact our intake coordinator to learn more.
Coverage for ABA therapy varies by insurance plan. Medicaid typically covers ABA services, while commercial insurance plans may require copayments. We recommend contacting your provider to understand your specific coverage details.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) focuses on helping individuals develop essential skills to improve their quality of life. Through structured interventions, ABA teaches new behaviors, reinforces positive actions, and reduces disruptive behaviors that interfere with daily activities.

Using proven, evidence-based techniques, ABA tailors treatment to each person’s unique needs. While widely used for individuals with autism, its principles also apply to education, mental health, and behavior management, making it a versatile and effective approach.

Yes! We offer evening social skills groups for children over five receiving ABA therapy. Our Early STEPS program, designed for children 18 months to 5 years old, combines individual therapy, group play, and structured activities tailored to their needs. Older clients also have opportunities to engage with peers in the community, practicing age-appropriate skills in a relaxed, natural setting.
The recommended hours for ABA therapy depend on each child’s needs. School-aged children typically receive around 15 hours per week. Early STEPS participants may receive up to 30 hours. A minimum of 10 hours per week is required for meaningful progress.
A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is a master’s-level professional. They design, supervise, and adjust treatment plans to ensure effective therapy. An RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) is a certified professional. They work directly with clients, applying ABA strategies under BCBA supervision. A BT (Behavior Technician) performs similar duties to an RBT but may not be certified. They assist in therapy sessions and follow treatment plans under BCBA guidance.
Parents and caregivers play key roles in reinforcing ABA strategies between therapy sessions. Your BCBA will provide training to help you apply techniques that support your child’s progress. Using these strategies consistently in daily routines strengthens learning and promotes lasting behavioral growth.
ABA therapy benefits children with autism who struggle with behaviors, daily routines, or learning new skills. If your child needs support in these areas, ABA may be a great fit. Contact our team to learn how we can help!
