Frequently Asked Questions

Start by calling our intake specialist to complete paperwork and schedule an initial appointment with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), usually within 45 days. The BCBA will then create a personalized treatment plan, review it with your family, and submit it to insurance. Once approved, services can begin — the whole process typically takes around four months.
We provide services to children and young adults between the ages of 2 and 21.
  1. In many cases, we can! Our BCBAs are able to work directly with your child in their school environment, attending IEP meetings and conferences and addressing behavioral challenges as they arise. Private schools tend to welcome outside providers more readily, though public schools may have certain restrictions for children over the age of 5.
  2. If your family is looking for an added level of support, we also offer advocacy services for an out-of-pocket fee. Get in touch with our intake coordinator to learn more.
Coverage varies by plan. Medicaid generally covers ABA therapy in full, while commercial insurance plans may come with copays or additional out-of-pocket costs. Our team is always happy to help you make sense of your benefits and explore your options — don’t hesitate to reach out!

ABA therapy is centered around helping individuals thrive in their daily lives. By teaching new skills, reinforcing positive behaviors, and reducing those that create challenges, our team uses evidence-based techniques customized to each person’s needs and goals.

Though ABA is perhaps best known for supporting those with autism and developmental disorders, its reach extends into education, mental health, and organizational behavior management — making it a versatile and proven approach to meaningful, lasting change.

Yes, and in several ways! We offer social skills groups every night of the week for clients over 5 who are receiving ABA therapy. Children in our Early STEPS early intervention program also experience a blend of individual therapy, group play, and group activities tailored to their abilities.

For our older clients, we create opportunities to connect with peers out in the community, practicing age-appropriate skills in a fun, natural environment.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a science-based approach to understanding learning and behavior. By identifying and reinforcing positive behaviors while reducing those that create challenges, ABA helps individuals with autism develop new skills and build greater independence in their everyday lives.

Yes! ABA professionals follow the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Ethics Code, which prioritizes client dignity, individualized treatment, and close collaboration with families. Ethical ABA practice centers on respecting each person’s unique needs and goals, using positive reinforcement and evidence-based strategies to foster growth and independence.

Research consistently supports ABA as an effective approach to building meaningful skills and improving quality of life. Proper training, oversight, and ongoing evaluation ensure these high standards are upheld at every step.

If your child has autism and struggles with challenging behaviors, daily tasks, or learning new skills, ABA therapy could be a great fit. Reach out to our team — we’re happy to help you figure out the best path forward for your child!

Think of it as a team approach! A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) designs and oversees each client’s personalized treatment plan, while an RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) and BT (Behavior Technician) work directly with clients to put that plan into action — both under the BCBA’s supervision. The key difference between an RBT and a BT is that a BT is still in the process of obtaining their RBT certification.

Every child is different, so recommendations are tailored to individual needs. That said, school-aged children typically receive around 15 hours per week, with a minimum of 10 hours. Children enrolled in our Early STEPS early intervention program receive an average of 30 hours per week to support their development during those critical early years.

Your involvement is a vital part of your child’s success! Your BCBA will provide parent training sessions to equip you with the tools and strategies needed to reinforce ABA techniques at home and help manage challenging behaviors across different environments.
