Frequently Asked Questions

Getting started begins with a call to our intake specialist, who will guide you through the paperwork and help schedule an initial evaluation with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This first appointment, typically lasting 1–2 hours, is usually scheduled within 45 days once all paperwork is complete.

Following the evaluation, the BCBA develops a personalized treatment plan and reviews it with your family before submitting it to your insurance provider for approval. At the same time, we begin identifying the right treatment team for your child. Once approval is received, services can begin. On average, the full process takes about four months.

We offer ABA therapy for children and young adults between the ages of 2 and 21.
  1. Yes. When allowed, we can support your child in school—most often in private school settings. While many public schools do not permit in-school ABA services, our BCBAs can still collaborate with your child’s team by attending IEP meetings and conferences.
  2. We also offer advocacy services, if needed, to help families navigate school-related challenges. Please contact our intake coordinator to learn more.
Coverage depends on your specific plan. Medicaid usually covers ABA therapy, while commercial plans often require copays.
The purpose of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is to improve meaningful, everyday behaviors that enhance quality of life. It focuses on teaching new skills, encouraging positive behaviors, and reducing those that interfere with daily functioning through individualized, evidence-based strategies.

Yes. We offer social skills groups for clients over age 5 who receive ABA therapy, providing opportunities to build and practice skills with peers.

Younger children in our Early STEPS program benefit from a combination of individual therapy, group play, and structured group activities tailored to their abilities. Older clients may also have opportunities to practice skills in community settings, helping them build confidence in real-world environments.

ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) is a therapy based on the science of learning and behavior, helping individuals develop new skills and reduce challenging behaviors through positive reinforcement.

When practiced in line with established professional standards, ABA therapy is both ethical and effective. Guided by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Ethics Code, all ABA professionals prioritize client dignity, individualized care, and family involvement throughout the process. Evidence-based strategies and positive reinforcement are used to foster meaningful skill development, growth, and lasting independence.

Recommendations vary based on each child’s needs, but many school-aged children receive around 15 hours per week. Early intervention programs may involve up to 30 hours per week, with a typical minimum of 10 hours.

A BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) designs and oversees each child’s treatment plan. RBTs (Registered Behavior Technicians) and BTs (Behavior Technicians) work directly with your child to implement that plan under the BCBA’s supervision. The main difference is that RBTs are certified, while BTs are typically working toward that certification.

Your involvement is an important part of your child’s progress. Through parent training, your BCBA will guide you in using practical ABA strategies so you can confidently support your child at home and in everyday situations.

Every child is different, but if your child has been diagnosed with autism and is experiencing challenges with behavior, daily routines, or skill development, ABA therapy may be a helpful option. Contact our team today—we’re here to help you determine the best next step for your family.
