Frequently Asked Questions
How Does the ABA Assessment Process Work?
It starts with a call to our intake specialist to complete paperwork and schedule your first appointment. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst will meet with your child and guardian for an initial session of 1-2 hours — typically within 45 days of completed paperwork.
From there, your BCBA drafts a personalized treatment plan, reviews it with your family, and submits it to your insurance provider. At the same time, your treatment team is being assembled. Once insurance approval comes through, staffing is finalized. From first call to first session, the process averages around four months.
What Ages Do You Serve?
Will You Work With My Child's School?
- Yes — and we love doing it. For kids over 5, our team can come alongside your child in school settings where we’re permitted. Private schools are typically on board; public schools less so. Either way, our BCBAs can sit with you at IEP meetings and conferences to make sure your child’s needs are front and center.
- Need a stronger advocate in your corner? We also offer advocacy services for an additional out-of-pocket fee — just ask our intake coordinator.

What is the purpose of ABA therapy?
Can ABA Be Done in a Group Setting?
Absolutely. We offer social skills groups every night of the week for clients over 5 who are receiving ABA therapy. Children in our Early STEPS program experience a blend of individual therapy, group play, and group activities tailored to their abilities.
And for our older clients, we take things out into the community — giving them the chance to connect with peers and practice age-appropriate skills in real-world settings where it’s natural, engaging, and fun.
What Is ABA Therapy?
Are ABA Providers Held to an Ethical Standard?
Yes — and that trust is built into every level of how we work. All ABA professionals are bound by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Ethics Code, a rigorous set of standards that puts your child’s dignity, individual needs, and your family’s voice at the center of care.
Ethical ABA means positive reinforcement, evidence-based strategies, and a genuine commitment to your child’s growth and independence. It also means ongoing training, proper oversight, and continuous evaluation — so those standards aren’t just promised, they’re practiced every single day.
Could ABA Therapy Help My Child?
What's the Difference Between a BCBA, RBT, and BT?
Think of it as a team with distinct roles. Your BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) is the architect — designing and overseeing your child’s treatment plan. Your RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) and BT (Behavior Technician) are the ones in the trenches, working directly with your child day to day to bring that plan to life, under your BCBA’s supervision.
The difference between an RBT and a BT? A BT is still working toward their RBT certification — but both are trained, supervised, and committed to your child’s progress.
